This International Regatta is, without a doubt, THE highlight of our thrilling and memorable 2024 Dragon Boat season.
 

After weeks of intense training at both sprints and the 2000M distance, the team was ready to go and compete for medals and, THE TEAMS DID NOT DISSAPPOINT!!!
 

The format was very unique and challenging on the 7/25 & 7/26 the team race in the D division, as Sparta 70.
 

Competing on Thursday, 7/25, as a mixed 20 boat, the team raced in 500M sprints and one 2000M distance race, less than 3 1/2 hours apart, and finished first in their division for each race.
 

On Friday, 7/26, the mixed-20 boat raced twice in at 200M , again winning both.
The team’s times for all of our mixed-20 boat races were excellent.
 

The Sparta 70 mixed m-20 boat won the GOLD MEDAL for the D division.

On the 7/27 and 7/28 the race format was repeated except now the men and women raced in 10 person boats.  The equipment used was 20 person boats, which made it even more challenging with only 10 paddlers having to pull that extra weight.
 

The ladies competed in the C division, and on the first day completed two challenging 500M and a 2000M in less. than 2 1/2 hours.  This, coupled with the afternoon heat (90°) and excessive humidity, it was simply an amazing performance of stamina and athleticism.

On the last day of competition, the ladies raced twice at 200M and, they gave the competition all they could handle. As a result of their consistent and powerful performance, the women earned the

SILVER MEDAL.

The men also raced in a similar format over the same two days. Competing as Sparta 70 in the D division.​​​​​​​​

They raced five times, competing in two 500M, one 2000M and two 200M in record times for the D division.  As a result of their consistent performance and race times, they won the GOLD MEDAL​​
